Passion Project

Naked Soul represents my work as a designer and an author, blending creative expression with thoughtful design. Published this year, the book is a realisation of a childhood dream and my debut entry into the world of poetry. The title, Naked Soul, conveys the core of the collection: unfiltered, authentic poetry that reflects my personal journey and experiences.

The book's design is an integral part of its message. The cover art features a striking "X" over the mouth, symbolising the challenges of self-expression and the fight to have one's voice heard. This visual element aligns seamlessly with the themes explored in the poetry, reinforcing the narrative of overcoming barriers to truth and authenticity.

Inside, the illustrations are deliberately raw and unpolished, mirroring the emotional intensity of the poetry. These sketches are designed to evoke the hurried marks of someone grappling with anxiety or facing life’s adversities. Together, the words and visuals create a cohesive narrative that invites readers to engage deeply with the content.

The poems address universal themes such as love, pain, friendship, and self-discovery, capturing significant moments that define the human experience. Each piece is accompanied by visuals that enhance its meaning, creating an immersive experience for the reader.

As a designer and author, this project allowed me to merge my professional skills with my creative vision. Naked Soul is not only a book of poetry but also a design work that balances aesthetics with substance and exemplifies my commitment to creating work that can connect emotional and intellectual levels.
